The U.S. Greenhouse Gas Center brings together greenhouse gas data, tools, and insights from across federal agencies to make climate information easier to discover, understand, and use.

The challenge

The challenge was more than bringing data into one place. Researchers, policymakers, and the public came to the platform with different questions, levels of expertise, and expectations.


Through user-flow mapping, stakeholder workshops, and collaboration with scientists across agencies, I helped shift the product from a traditional data-access model toward an experience organized around the decisions people were trying to make.


This work shaped the platform's information architecture, interaction patterns, and visual system.

Research made it clear that a single experience wasn't going to serve everyone equally well. Rather than forcing every audience through a traditional data catalog, I advocated for a model that supported two complementary paths:
